Brief View

             

The Brief View contains, author, title, publisher, description, subject headings and holdings information. It does not list notes or added authors.

Holdings information consists of the Location, Call Number, Status, Library Holdings (labeled Library has) and Total Copies or Volumes fields.




The Location field states which library owns the item and which collection with the library houses the title.

NOTE: There may be more than one holdings statement for each title entry.

The Location field states which library owns the item and which collection within the library houses the title.

>The Call Number field lists the call number under which the item is shelved in the collection.

The Status field states whether or not the item is checked out, or whether the item is unavailable (not yet ordered, in processing, in mending, lost, etc.)

The Library Holdings field (labeled Library has) gives a list of years, copies or editions held by the library.

The Total Copies or Volumes field lists the number of bound volumes there are for each title. This can be misleading, particularly with periodicals since the library often binds several volumes of a periodical title into one bound volume.

If there is more than one record associated with the title you selected, you can view the remaining records by clicking the Previous or Next icons.

To switch to either the Detailed View  >, or the Staff View  , click the correct button near the top of your records display.

To save information about the current records displayed, see the Record Options box at the bottom of your results page.

To Print, Save or E-mail selected records
1. Mark the record(s) you are interested in by clicking on the white box on the left side of the screen. A checkmark displays. Only one display result page can be printed at a time. You can change the number of records displayed by using the drop-down menu in the ... records per page box.
2. Click Selected on Page in the Record Options box at the bottom of the page.
3. Use the Select Download Format box to choose a download format [Full Record, Brief Record, EndNote Citation, Latin1 Marc, Raw Marc, UTF-8]
4. To Save or Print - click Format for Print/Save. Either Print or Save your results screen.
5. To e-mail the information to yourself - type your e-mail address in the enter your e-mail address box and click Email.
6. Click the Clear Selected to clear the checkmarks from all of the current titles. If you wish to print more records, go to the next page of your search results. Repeat steps 1- 6.

If an item is checked out you can place a hold/request on the item.


To begin a new search, click the Search link beneath the banner.

The Title Bar at the top of the page will display your current WebVoyage location.
