Call Number Examples
Titles are arranged in libraries using call numbers which give specific information about where each title is located. Call numbers can be alphabetic, numeric, or a combination of letters and numbers. Titles are generally arranged based on their subject but in some cases another method is used. There are four basic types of call numbers used by Boise State University Albertsons Library. Examples of each type are shown below:
Call # Library of Congress -- call number example: ND553.M37 A4 1986
Call # Dewey Decimal -- call number example: 808.02 Sh25a 2002
Call # US Gov Docs -- call number example: PrEx 2.2:B 62
